Affordability

calgary net zero homes

These are the ways we’re tackling affordability:

  • Net zero / high performing homes with no cost to heat or power your home.
  • Accessory dwelling units or  “ADU’s” such as garage suites that can help with your mortgage or provide affordable rent pricing
  • small homes with smart impactful design. Giving you all the amenities of a large house but in a more sustainable and affordable way. Brought to you, in partnership by our friends at Makor Architecture
  • Affordable rentals programs. Utilizing the 81+billion dollars that CMHC will be delivering through the national housing strategy’s federal initiatives.
  • CMHC Green home rebate- up to 25%off your mortgage loan insurance premium for high performance Net zero buildings.

We need to look at ways to increase our efficiency of energy consumption in order to bring our operating costs down. Thankfully with the advancements in technology and building practices in recent years, we are now able to reach cost neutrality as it relates to homes that are built to a Net Zero standard compared to code built homes.

When you build Net Zero you are choosing to make your purchase more affordable by saving on your utility bills. Having a 100% electric home means that you don’t pay for any energy your home consumes. The solar panels and complete package of energy-efficient products ensure that over the course of a full year, you will not have to pay to power or heat your home.

Building Net Zero gives you more control. Imagine being able to afford your home because you don’t pay to power or heat your home. You experience the economic benefits immediately.

If you’re a building owner you are able to give your tenants the benefit of having a consistent utility bill, one that doesn’t fluctuate with the market giving your tenants a better chance at affording their rent.

Carriage houses, ADU’s, small homes. We’ve teamed up with Bode to bring a whole suite of options.
